What Is a DOT Physical?

A DOT physical is a mandatory medical exam required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). It ensures that commercial drivers are healthy enough to operate large vehicles safely and without risk to themselves or others.

After passing the exam, you’ll receive:

• A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC)

• Documentation valid for up to 24 months (or shorter if medical conditions require monitoring)
